Who we are

What is Tri-City Association of Realtors®?

The Tri-City Association of REALTORS® is a professional trade organization whose members are licensed real estate brokers located primarily in the greater Tri-City (Kennewick, Pasco, Richland, West Richland) area. Tri-City Association of REALTORS® (TCAR) was founded as the Tri-City Board of REALTORS® in 1946. Today, TCAR is the largest trade association in the Tri-Cities with more than 850 REALTORS® from more than 100 firms belonging to our Association. In addition, we have more than 40 Affiliate members (representatives from other real estate-related professions such as title companies, lenders, home inspectors, etc.) We have earned a reputation as the voice for real estate in southeastern Washington state.

Shannon Affholter is the Co-Chair of the department and an Assistant Teaching Professor at the Runstad Department of Real Estate.Shannon was the Chief Operating Officer at Oakpointe Communities, providing operational leadership for one of the largest real estate developers in the Puget Sound. Before Oakpointe, Shannon was the executive director at the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties, the largest local homebuilder association in the nation, where he oversaw the Association in its entirety.Shannon holds a Master of Business Administration from Western Washington University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Pacific Lutheran University. At the University of Washington, Shannon teaches classes in real estate development, negotiations, and leadership. Shannon is a member of the Urban Land Institute Northwest.
