Who We Are
Tri-City Association of REALTORS® (TCAR) is a professional trade organization that represents real estate professionals across the greater Tri-Cities area of southeastern Washington — including Kennewick, Pasco, Richland, West Richland, and surrounding communities.
Our History
Tri-City Association of REALTORS® was originally founded in 1946 as the Tri-City Board of REALTORS®. Over the decades, we have grown alongside the Tri-Cities region, expanding our membership, services, and advocacy to meet the evolving needs of real estate professionals and the communities they serve.
Today, our membership includes nearly 1,000 REALTORS® from over 70 firms, along with more than 40 Affiliate Members — professionals in title, lending, inspection, and other industries that support real estate transactions.
Our Mission & Values
We strive to be the voice of real estate in the Tri-Cities. Our goals are:
- To support ethical, professional standards in real estate through continuing education, dispute resolution, and adherence to REALTOR® ethics.
- To provide reliable resources, tools, and data — including housing statistics, market reports, and regulatory guidance — so our members can serve clients with knowledge and integrity.
- To foster a collaborative community among REALTORS®, affiliates, local businesses, and residents, ensuring that housing remains accessible and transparent.
- To advocate for policies and practices that promote home ownership, fairness, sustainability, and responsible development in our region.
What We Do
- Professional Education & Training
We offer classes, workshops, and webinars to help REALTORS® stay current with laws, regulations, emerging technologies, and best practices. From ethics to tax strategies to exchange programs, our educational offerings aim to elevate the profession. - Dispute Resolution & Ethics Enforcement
When conflicts arise — whether between REALTORS®, or between REALTORS® and consumers — we provide structured systems for conflict resolution and enforce REALTORS® Code of Ethics standards. - Market Data & Resources
We compile and share up-to-date housing statistics, MLS rules and regulations, and community trends to support agents, firms, policymakers, and the public. - Advocacy & Community Leadership
We represent REALTOR®-member interests in local and state policy discussions, particularly on housing, land use, zoning, fair housing, and real property law. We also engage in community events and outreach to help educate the public about real estate rights and resources.
Our Impact
Over the years, Tri-City Association of REALTORS® has:
- Helped raise professional standards in real estate across the Tri-Cities through education and ethical oversight.
- Improved transparency in the housing market by publishing regular reports and statistics, giving buyers, sellers, and policymakers reliable data.
- Supported community efforts around affordable housing, fair housing, consumer protection, and sustainable growth.
- Fostered partnerships between REALTORS®, affiliates, and other stakeholders to improve the home buying, selling, and ownership experience.
Governance & Leadership
Tri-City Association is governed by a Board of Directors drawn from among REALTOR® members. We employ a professional staff that manages day-to-day operations, member services, events, programs, and communications. Together, our leadership ensures that the Association is responsive, transparent, and always aligned with member and community needs.
